Riley Thompson

Riley is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Princeton University, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.

Riley's fascination with how our thoughts and behaviours can either limit us or help us become the person we want to be was sparked at an early age. He continued to pursue his passions for personal development and leadership at Princeton, earning the position of Captain on the Men's Lacrosse team. With a background as an athlete, coach, and mental performance consultant in high-level sports, Riley has spent years helping numerous individuals flow with life instead of resisting it, and seeing where that takes them. Today, Riley works with people seeking ways to be their best selves in their career, relationships, sports/interests, and broader life.

Riley supports individuals who want to grow but feel stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated that they aren’t showing up the way they know they can. He believes meaningful change is always possible. In his work, Riley helps his clients explore what matters most and helps them move toward it. His approach draws heavily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on learning to accept what we cannot control while committing to act on what truly matters.

It’s easy to get caught in the pressures and expectations of daily life and lose sight of the fact that we can choose the direction we move in. Riley's mission is to help people reconnect with their inner strength and wisdom so they can step more fully into the life they want to live.
